Looking for the Helpers: A Message of Gratitude and Hope

Thanksgiving is around the corner, a time of gathering and gratitude. While the history

of the holiday and the way many of us learned about it deserve deeper reflection, today I want to focus on its enduring message: coming together and celebrating what we are thankful for.

This year, I find myself reflecting on gratitude with a mix of emotions. On one hand, I am

profoundly grateful for the many blessings in both my personal and professional life. On

the other, I can’t ignore the uncertainty and fear that many are feeling as we look toward

January 2025 and a change in presidential administration.

Although the outcome of the election was not what I hoped for, I find comfort in the

words of Fred Rogers: “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are

helping.” These words remind me that even in challenging times, there are those

advocating for the underserved, standing up for the underrepresented, and working to

make a difference.

At Jane Hotel Group, we draw strength and purpose from our core values—family,

integrity, well-being, and making a difference. For us, family is everything. Whether

biological or chosen, families are the foundation of our lives. They offer love, support,

and resilience in the face of uncertainty, and they inspire us to create spaces where

everyone feels welcome, connected, and cared for.

Integrity means staying true to these values, even when the road ahead is unclear.

Well-being reminds us of the importance of caring for ourselves and those around us.

And making a difference is a promise—to ourselves and our community—that we will

be helpers wherever and whenever we can.

This Thanksgiving, I am especially thankful for the helpers in our lives, those who

embody these values through their actions. At Jane Hotel Group, we are committed to

being among them. Our goal is to build a legacy that uplifts individuals, families, and

communities alike, proving that even in difficult times, compassion and kindness can

guide the way forward.

As you reflect on this holiday season, I encourage you to pause and look for the helpers in

your life. Celebrate the families—biological or chosen—that lift you up, and consider

how you can extend their spirit of care and connection to others. Together, we can face

challenges with gratitude, strength, and a shared commitment to making a difference.

Happy Thanksgiving.
